5 Years of MCF.com and Me
Even though the system has not added my 5 year badge (it may show tomorrow), I wanted to make a point to mention that on 4/13/2010, I became a member of MCF.com and reflect a little bit.
I've owned my '04 Monte since fall of 2008. I did not interact much on 3800/W-body forums until around '09/'10 when the "mod bug" latched it's teeth into me. I did not spend much time back then on MCF.com, but Chibiblacksheep contacted me on a non-Monte forum and convinced me to spend a little more time here. I'm really happy he did (and that I listened)!!
Back when I bought my Monte and later joined MCF.com, I never realized what this relationship would evolve into. In the past 5 years of being a member of MCF.com, I have built some outstanding friendships with people in the Monte community (both online and offline). I've been fortunate to meet many of you in person and I hope to continue that trend (which is what I really like about car shows and Monte meets). As STUMPMI often says, "it's about being part of something bigger then yourself" and how true he is.
I want to say thanks everyone for all that you have taught me over the years (from anything I wanted to know about a Monte, to how being a dedicated Monte enthusiast can expand your friendships).
And thanks for putting up with me from good times and bad times
I don't know what the future brings, but I hope many of us are still here and that I am still a Monte owner to see my 10 year MCF.com badge!!!

Jason, I need to say thank you to you because you've been one to help me many times over my three year membership! Perhaps I will get my 3 year badge soon too. It was a pleasure meeting you at GM Nationals, and I really, REALLY, love you what you've done to The Maniac! It's beautiful, and both you and your car serve as role models to our members, including myself!

Congrats on your 5 years Jason. When I was deciding my future as admin here, I saw the enthusiasm you had. And all the exciting ideas for the future of the forum. I didn't have the time needed to continue as admin anymore. But I also didn't want to just dump all the responsibilities onto Chibi Mike. He was a busy man also. Mike and I discussed my stepping down, and possibly asking you to be admin.
I knew you were the right choice for this job. Your acceptance of the administrator job made me feel better about stepping down. I knew with you and Mike, MCF is in good hands.
Here's to 5 years. And many more to come!
Congrats Jason.
Lou

Congratulations on your 5 year anniversary Jason. I have only been a member for 2 years now and your posts have helped me many times over the past 2 years and I thank you for that. The mods and members are what make this forum different than any other forum I have seen and is the reason why I keep coming back.
Please continue with the excellent work

Oh boy does he ever...
Jason, having members on the forum like you really do make this a good place to pull up a chair, sip a cup of coffee and relax for a few minutes. Congrats on being here for 5 years and also a hearty thank you for taking on a key role in the hierarchy. This place would not be the same without you.
