not really monte related so i thought i would put it here
i just got a 3400 and a 4T65E from a monte carlo
to put in my z24 the motor will go under alot of mod's to make good power but as for the trans did anybody ever get a high stal torque for them ? are non-lock up torque's avalible? or will all this be custom stuff just trying to see whats avalible for this trans i know i can get a lsd unit no prob and i will take care of the shifting (full manual) it's more the torque that i am worried about so any help on this would be aprecieted thanks

Mechanically speaking, torque converters are very simple devices and I don't see why you couldn't getany stall you want.

I don't have experience with FWD's though, I know there are members here that do.

The tuners are using these with the Ecotec motors. Should be lots available.
Here is a link to the GM tuners web site, and it has a downloadable book on how to build a racing 4T65E transmission. I think this is a good site for anyone thinking of BUILDING a racing transmission. These transmissions with PROPER build are capable of handling the OVER 1000+HP of the Ecotec drag racing motors! From what I remember, they make them 3-speeds.
This is an excellent book with tons of pics, and even part list. I am hoping to find more sites like this.

Here is one supplier of HD trans, so that you can build or buy one of their 1000-hp trans. Total cost for a 1000-HP trans with harden axles, etc, is $7,000

i deffenlly will not be pushing 1000 hp at best it will be 400 hp i just wanted a hight stall torque non-lock up i know that they make them fro the th700R4 because i am looking at converting my 88 the the orginal th700r4 and you can get them nonlock up now if i would have known that they wher ebuilding them trans to take that kind of power i would have never taken it out !
