It's an exciting time of year, isn't it? When the new cars start to roll out, there's a crisp sense of purpose in the air. This year, the carmakers are hard at it again after a troubled period, and although things aren't easy, everyone is trying to do good work. The time for making excuses is over, and now is the time for making cars. For all of us, every new shape promises to lead down a road that we haven't taken before, and new people, distant places, and great adventures lie at the end of it. Every new car is a great drive waiting to happen

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
The Camaro Z/28 is back and should be better than ever. Meant to recall the original, race-ready homologation special from the late 1960s, the Z/28 has been slated to return ever since the revival of the Camaro in 2010, but it didn't make it to the street because Chevy engineers wanted a worthy engine. Even the supercharged, 580-hp V-8 from the ZL1 couldn't cut it. The Z/28's centerpiece is the normally aspirated V-8 from the outgoing Corvette Z06, and it's complemented by a six-speed manual transmission (and only a six-speed manual), track-ready suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes. It has the same refreshed look that every Camaro gets for 2014, but the Z/28 looks more hard-core. Even so, this Camaro might not be the track monster that you're hoping for, because the baseline for the Z/28's 300-pound weight loss is relative to the 4120-pound Camaro ZL1. That means the Z/28 should weigh about as much as a regular Camaro SS. - Joseph CapparellaWHY WE CARE
This is the most hard-core Camaro since the Roger Penske Z/28 racing cars of the 1960s.
On Sale: Early 2014
Price: $65,000 (est.)
Engine: 7.0L V-8, 500
hp, 470 lb-ft (est.)

Chevrolet SS
The 2014 Chevrolet SS comes to the United States by way of Australia, where it is known as the Holden Commodore, the car that also spawned the short-lived but well-loved Pontiac G8. The new SS picks up where the G8 left off, and we're jazzed about the reappearance of a rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevrolet. Sadly, there will be no manual transmission for folks like us; a six-speed automatic will be matched with the LS3 V-8 engine that we know so well from the C6 Corvette. The Chevrolet SS starts at a pricey $44,470, but that price includes standard luxury features such as a Bose audio system, Chevy's MyLink, leather-trimmed seats, and even automatic parking assist -- a first for the brand. The SS goes up against the brutish SRT versions of the Dodge Charger and the Chrysler 300 in terms of tire-shredding ability, although its nondescript style doesn't quite match the Mopar twins in terms of muscle-car swagger. - JCWHY WE CARE
There's a Corvette V-8 in a sedan that's the size of a BMW 5-series. What's not to love?On Sale: Late 2013
Price: $44,470

Engine: 6.2L V-8, 415 hp, 415 lb-ft
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
It all started with a convertible. When the Corvette C1 was introduced in 1953, it was available only as a roadster; an optional hard top wasn't even offered until 1956. With the Corvette's five subsequent generations, a convertible was a key part of the car's identity, so it's no surprise that the plan for the new Corvette Stingray included a convertible from the get-go. Chevy says the Corvette's aluminum construction needs no reinforcement to compensate for removing the roof, so the Stingray convertible shouldn't carry much extra weight compared with the coupe. We expect world-beating performance from the direct-injected, 6.2-liter pushrod V-8, which sends 455 hp through a seven-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. You can drop the top on this Corvette convertible at speeds up to 30 mph, so you'll not only be able to show off the upgraded interior decked out with leather and aluminum, but also have the chance to get a wind-in-the-hair experience like never before. - JCWHY WE CARE

That's a tough one. The Z/28 is going to be an amazing car. But I don't need a track car, If I was going to get a Damaro I would just do the SS. The Chevy SS is also going to be a really amazing car, and the fact that you can smoke most cars on the road as a sedan....that's just amazing. The Vette....what is there to say about the Vette. There is a reason why this car has stuck around for as long as it has. Of course the Vette will be amazing. If I had the money and could choose either of them, I think I would go with either the Chevy SS or the Vette. I don't think I would go with the Z/28 because again if I got a Camaro I would just do the SS and then use the rest of that money to go upgrade crazy lol

...Thanks iMuf for you thoughts & post. Every car I like I can't afford, but it sure supplies me with a lot of auto dreams.

I really love the new Corvette & I'm hoping that my boss gets one , because he lets me drive his cars > Dreams are `free they just seems to cost a lot to make them come `true
