Watching people go after records is like a game
of tennis. Without straining our necks too much, we figured it was time for an update on our last installment of the world’s most powerful 2014 Corvette Stingray.

Late Model Racecraft (LMR) has managed to one-up the folks at Vengeance Racing using quite a bit more hardware. The Houston, Texas crew has been setting all sorts of C7 records, and the latest involved a 416cid stroker engine, custom grind camshaft, CNC ported LT1 cylinder heads, and a Vortech YSI supercharger. This combo alone was worth 990-rwhp and 942 lb-ft of torque, set at 15psi of boost. But wait, there’s more! Hello Nitrous Express! Jetted to 150hp, the nitrous system put the C7 over the top. The new most powerful C7 boasts 1,121-rwhp and 992 lb-ft of torque.
Without an aftermarket or Z06 fuel pump, let alone injectors, it is hard to say how much more power can be squeezed out of the direct-injection C7. But I’d bet this may be close to the limit. Of course there is probably a turbocharged LT1 somewhere that disagrees. Word on the street is that LMR has a custom twin-turbo kit in the works. And of course you can't count out Vengeance.
