2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport Long-Term Arrival
Get out of the way, L.A.-- the Cadillac Vsport is coming up fast. Best to roll into a slower lane and let this twin-turbo menace through.

If you know Motor Trend, then you know we invest
a huge amount of blood and treasure into evaluating the cars that take part in our annual Car of the Year extravaganza. But even after the exhaustive testing and selection process is over, there’s still plenty more we can learn and share with you about each winner during its year-long stay in the MT garage. And, boy, are we ready to learn more about the 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport that just rolled up to MTHQ.At COTY, the CTS Vsport was like a twin-turbo bomb that blew the judges away. It didn’t matter whether we were whipping around the track, carving up the back roads, or hauling down the highway, the 2014 CTS lineup -- and the Vsport in particular—showcased more than enough good stuff to score the Golden Calipers. Now that the tire smoke and shrapnel from Car of the Year has cleared, it’s time to see what 24/7, 365 in the saddle reveals about the new Caddy.
And, thanks in part to a mighty set of Brembos up front, the Vsport stops in a supercar-esque 100 feet.The Vsport we have comes loaded with a gripload of standard features -- as do all Vsports -- including magnetic ride control, multiple electronic safety nannies, and a host of interior amenities anchored by Cadillac’s CUE navi/infotainment system. In fact, the only option on our year-long eval is its Red Obsession Tintcoat sheen at $995, which adds to the $59,995 base price. The whole shooting match comes to $60,990.So far, I’ve spent a few days bombing around L.A. in the Vsport, and the car is very much what I remember from my COTY experience: fast, nimble, and rip-roaring fun.
