Default 1st gen ipod nano recall!

well i was on another forum and came across this. now i still have my first gen nano i bought it when they first came out and use it in my car to this day. BUT from what i understand you can now send them in and get a free upgrade.. im not sure what the upgrade is but my nano is only a 2gb and it is full.. so anything is better then this thing.

heres the link... Apple - Support - iPod nano Replacement Program

but the more i read it, it looks like they just "service" it.... which would suck.

Apparently my 1GB Nano is part of that recall. I don't even use the thing anymore, I'm just getting this done for the hell of it lol.

I bought one for my daughter, it seems like 10 years ago by now? I don't think she even uses it anymore, last I saw her mom was using it, but that was 3+ yrs ago.......

Yea, I got it as a gift so long ago. I just found it recently cleaning out my desk. Hey, if I can get a new or refurbished one for nothing, why not? lol

5 years and numerous fires later Apple finally admits there is a problem with the Nano. If you own one that qualifies I would take advantage of the recall. A friend of mine had one and it started smoldering while sitting on a table. Luckily he was able to pick it up with a pair of pliers and toss it outside before it did serious damage. As it was it left a burn mark on the table top but if he hadn't noticed it smoking the damage could have been worse.

I still have a silver 6gb and a blue 4gb. I found them in the Monte's glovebox when I was cleaning it, and I was like oh wow, I remember these!!! I plugged them into a computer and they still work, still had a lot of my old music on them too.

I remember the old Ipod Mini, i had a silver one but i dont remember the size. It was the first ipod i had and it was promotional when i got my quad a long time ago. I still have my red 2nd gen, havent used it in a long time but i think its still in working shape. Now i have a 2nd gen ipod touch that i've been using for quite a while.

I have the iPod touch and use it on the fourm every day I think they should have recalled the 3rd gen nano. I don't know anyone who's had good luck with them
