I have been a member of several different forums but this is the only one im active on. This is a really friendly forum that is very welcoming to new members. I think some people join just to ask that one question they are having a problem with and then only come back when they have other problems.
i will say the amount of activity on this site is pretty good for the size of it. ive see sites with a lot more members have hardly any activity in a day. I check in a few times a day and there is usually something new.

Says the guy who named himself after a cartoon character.
Like Taz said lots of times people move on after selling their car. It makes no sense to post where 99% of threads are car specific. I did too i have been a member on a mustang forum for 6 years and have well over 25,000 posts but after i sold it lord behold i lost all intrest in the site over night.
But one major problem i noticed this site has over the 6 others that im still somewhat active is people post on this thread only to ask one question, once they get thier answer they're gone with the wind. I have never seen that happen on other forums before.

I'm one of hte "old timers" here onthe MCF and I've seen probably 3 "sets" of members come through. When I joined, ti was myself, wizkidd, z34phoneix, RJ, Grandpa Dave, Taz, Space.... well as they fizzled out, Brittany, 04 Intimidator, Brian, Mike 03JGMonte, 77GP, JuniorCar, Teacher Todd (who started the members blog) and now we have the new set... Leprechaun, Possum, Angie, Rick, Stumpmi, lougreen, .... many others I am neglecting to mention.
We had a moderator here called WizzKidd who was really active at one time... had a Tony Stewart edition Monte, but had a child, got a Dodge Magnum with a V8, and life just moved him on past the forum. A marriage, kid, and a new car will ruin a good member every time!! (Insert a laughing smiley here, I mean that sarcastically... there is, of course, a lot mor eto life than car forums)
As people come and go, Taz, Space, and myself will remain and hold down teh fort.... ...... hopefully. Along with a few other "permamnet" members who may join and come through the ranks and join us.
There was actually about a 6 month span in 2009 or so where I made like 3 posts ot this forum, all about my Torino. I basically got to where most of my time there for a while was either consumed with college or figuring out which directions I wanted to take that car.... I spent 10-12 hours a day during that summer just working on this thing.... I really needed a life outside of it looking back, and even today sometiems I think I need some new hobbies to supplement cars.
Bu tthat's just me on a rant....
I was unfortunate enough to be around to see a couple of those "drama" incidents that sent a few members packing. I also survived the forum crash of 2008 which resulted in Space having two accounts..... "KidSpace" and "SpaceRider"
I had this big post made up at one time about exhaust, because back then, every other day someone popped up asking about headers, u-bend deletes, resonator deletes, and which muffler was best for their car. It was pinned at the top of hte Exhaust section here maybe 5-6 months before the forum crashed and that post was gone....

LoL `Brent & Angie LOL
I do my best to make friends with all member's, but many have departed our Monte Carlo Family for a variety of reasons.. I miss many of them, & it's great to see them return for a visit & give us a update on their life.
If
, a member believes in Adam & Eve
, then we are all related...I'm always adopting new people in my life all the time & in our Monte Carlo Family

Hi Rick, great thread with a trip also down memory lane

`Dune, you have an excellent memory 4-Sure..I did create the `Blog, but Teacher starting posting it because I could not get online at the begining of each new day...(I miss seeing Teacher, but he just got married & just started teaching again this new school year)..***(The Super Pic on the intro to MCF `Blog was created & designed by Moderator J.J. who has just recently returned to the MCF...he's been missed...Welcome back Mod J.J)...Now, we've been lucky to have Mike (JG) posting our Member's Blog everyday without fail
( a few other member's like `Keane & Drew have filled in on occasions that Mike could not be online...Thanks EveryOne...I've been a member since Dec 2005 & have been here everyday "except the days I could not log on or the site was down
`Duane, you've been one of our constant active member's & have been very consistent in bringing new subjects to the MCF + your creation of the NASCAR Thread for all our Monte Carlo Racing Member's. Your title as NASCAR Historian is just one honor that you are deserving of 4-Sure...Thanks for you active contribution & all that you have done to keep us moving on & getting better
Last but not least is to our leader `Lou (Administrator Taz) that has dedicated so much of his time/life to keep our forum running & safe
I don't know how he puts up with all this space stuff & a few of our member's (LOL) 4-Sure...Thanks much `Lou & also thanks to all our active contributing Monte Carlo Family `Member's 4-Real-Sure Last edited by Space; Sep 9, 2012 at 12:08 PM.
LoL `Duane, I blame Rick 4 starting this super thread & `Lou (Taz) for naming himself after a cartoon character
LOL & now I'm blaming President Obama & the secret service for delaying shipments to the warehouse so I can get `off work
He's in Florida 2day & I did not get 2 see him
LOL "I'd tell him 2 not mess with my `job & I won't mess with his
LOL..p.s. Hey `Duane, what's it like out there in the outside world ? Are there really people out there having fun 2day ? LOL
I wonder if we are all assigned a MCF member number on the back side of things. I wanna know my member #. They won't tell me what car number my Dale Jr Edition is, so I wanna know my member number. I'm hoping for number 8888. Its probably somewhere in the middle there...
