Drove 220 miles to see that car this morning
I have never seen a finer example of a Photoshop job in my life. All the pictures of it and you don't see one chip, scrape, dent or nothing. Wife didn't even want to get out of car to look at it. If there was one paint chip, there were 50 and I am talking about on the sides, not the hood. Stood out like a wildfire. Anyone ever heard of a dealer photoshopping their pics. This had to be. We didn't even talk to the salesman. I did just text him and tell him what I thought and asked where the car was that was advertised!
What a waste.

Well the pictures don't have to be Photoshopped - just the way they take the photos and where the light is hitting them can really hide the details. Not to mention, a lot of dealers use lower quality cameras or upload smaller pictures to make the imperfections harder to see.

When I was looking for a beater (before I just bought a new car) I looked at pictures of this car and the way they took the pictures I couldn't tell someone keyed the side. Then they didn't take a picture of the other side, come to find it was completely rusted out on the passenger side!

Sorry to hear that Jerry. It looked like such a nice car too. I'm sure the interior was probably just as bad. Sounds like the "sleazy used car salesmen" have found a new tool to scam people. Surprised he didn't go around the car with a tube of touch-up paint, and put globs of touch-up everywhere.

I suppose it could be a good car if someone got it dirt cheap and re-painted it. Depending on how many miles are on it, and how good the interior is.

Sorry to hear about the time wasted on that trip. One thing I know from the MANY car pics I've taken, it's easy just by the nature of how a picture is for imperfections to "hide". I've taken digital pictures of cars that tons of stone chips on the front bumper and NONE of them showed up, same for scratches and rust bubbles. About the only way to see the faults is to have hi-res LARGE pics that you can zoom in on... Otherwise, sometimes they don't have to be photoshopped for the car to look awesome in a pic.

If it is a true photoshop touch-up, then that is slimy and mis-representing the car. If it's how the pic came out, then it is what it is....

Bottom line, not what you were looking for.

That sucks Jerry - I wish you were in the market a year ago - you could have bought our Indy Impala and yes there were some rock chips on the front but not nearly is bad as what you are describing.

Salesman said it wasn't photoshopped and he did the best he could to take pictures. I wish I would have taken pics to compare because there would have been no comparison. Off to the next car, found another to look at.
