Well, since I am unemployed I opted to do COBRA from my old job - $450 a month for BCBS of IL - full coverage. I have that for about 8 more months. After that I am screwed. You see, I can't get individual health insurance because of my pre existing condition. My new job dosen't offer insurance because of the cost, so I don't know what to do.

Lucky for me I am covered by the VA... well for now at least. Until B.O. makes us pay for our own health care, because, according to him... "It's not like somebody forced them to go"

..Hi `Matt, I sure hope that they don't take away your coverage. It's another sad story on the way our country is taking care of those that have served. I know my grandfather got the run around, and he gave `up trying to get help. His purple heart is bleeding : (
There are just to many sad stories today....I keep search'in 4 the good, and pray...Good Luck Matt.

when i first started my current job, the very first thing (literally first thing monday morning on day 1) was to find us health insurance. i never knew much about it till then. i still don't! my head was spinning after reading and researching for 4 hours. i ended up finding us a relatively good policy that the company pays for. for 4 employees it is just over $900 a month through United HeathCare. it's not the greatest plan but the co-pays aren't too bad and they cover emergency room visits and surgery and all that. it doesn't include dental, but they tell me we can get that for around $23/extra per person/per month.
