$2.2 trillion: How much was spent on health care in the U.S. in 2007 ($7,421 per person.)
$4.27 trillion: How much the U.S. is projected to spend on health care in 2017.
$56 billion: The total amount of uncompensated care provided for the uninsured in 2008. (60 percent provided by hospitals.)
86.7 million: The number of people in the U.S. who lived without health insurance for part or all of 2007-08.
1.5 million: How many U.S. families lose their homes to foreclosure per year because of medical bills they can't afford.
14,000: The number of people in the U.S. estimated to be losing their health coverage every day due to recent turmoil in the job market.
$12,680: The average cost of family health coverage through employer-based plans in 2008.
$1,525: The cost of health care built into the price of every General Motors car.

Space, i cant afford health insurance. My job offers it, but its almost $350 bi-monthly. That's $700 a month $700!!! How the heck are people support to afford that? I cant get Medicaid cause according to a chart, i make to much money.
I'm not a chart, i'm a person.
Its just sad. We can create weapons that can wipe out entire nations, but cant help our own country when were sick.

J.J., it's very sad, & I don't see any solutions in our near future.
It's one of the reasons my grandfather sold his business, plus
all the government required paperwork & conditions/restrictions
put on him.
Since 2000 he had to drop full medical Ins. for his employee's,
and just ended up giving each employee $1.00 more per hour
to their pay.
Since I came back from my brief work assignment in Kuwait to take care of him, & his company
I've increased net profits by 25%, and checking his books,
I can't believe how much of his profits he spent helping
his employee's that had medical/family problems out of his own money. It's a lot....

Presently I do not have medical insurance because of cost, but
the new owner stated that they will provide me with a program,
but I'm not sure what it is at present ? ? ?
They take over next Monday, June 1st

It's just a sad story, & I hope our present leaders find
a resolution to our national medical Insurance problem.
One accident could wipe me `out : (

Sounds like a good deal for me, especially if it's for your family.
My company does what is called medical reimbursements where they pay you back for what you pay for your insurance, up to $260/mo.

Wow, can I relate 4 Sure
Mike reminds me of one of the senior citizens that helped
teach me during my homeschooling
He keeps me on my toes..
& he sure can catch mistakes, & Isure made a lot of them in life, and on the MCF
I can tell that Mike's a very detailed oriented person.
He should be a Mod or MCF Hall Monitor

I have my health care through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of IL through my employeer. $35.62 every two weeks right out of my check. No complaints.

I used to have BC/BS of Il. That is till SOMEONE (no one wants to take the blame for it) changed my Ins to BC/BS of OH and didn't bother to tell me. The Ins company blamed UPS,. UPS blamed the Ins company and so the merry-go-round goes on.
At one point I had great Ins. But it's changed like most people's have.
Before the Ins would cover lasic 100%. Now I have no idea what percent they cover?
I do have to admit I do have very good Health care coverage compared to most these days.
Still, my coverage was suppose to cost me $57/bi-weekly. UPS changed us to getting paid weekly and my Ins cost stayed at $57 or over $200/month.
At one point I had great Ins. But it's changed like most people's have.
