Northern Michigan is beautiful during the summer, as well as in the winter if you like snowmobiling, etc. More than 11,000 inland lakes for water sports and fishing, while bordering the most Great Lakes of any state with the longest freshwater shoreline in the world. You can stand anywhere in the state and be within 85 miles of one of the Great Lakes. Absolutely love the water and lake life here.
Exactly what i did with my area, everyone always seemed to hate it and i honestly never quite got why, but to each his own i suppose. Alot of people hated where we were as the high school was in the country

Apple Valley. Not too far from Mpls. Perhaps two weeks ago my dad who still lives there sent me a picture message with fresh snow on the ground. I laughed at him and looked out the window... 85 and sunny

I loved going up to central MN in the fall and winters though. Whole different world than in the cities. Had gramma's cabin on the lake and would go snowmobilin' and ice fishin'... definitely two things I miss about winter up there. Down here you say snowmobile and they're like, huh? Snowmobile? What's a snow?

I'm happy where I live - only a couple of miles from great hiking/bike trails & X-country skiing trails. Small town feel but close to shopping. Still lots of open spaces/farms out by me & lots of trees.

I like Michigain in the fall and summer months but would like to live in Arizonia in the winter months. Michigan has such a colorful fall. the fishing and camping are wonderfull here too. I do hate shoveling and driving in the snow. If i can stay home and just look at it from inside that is a different story, the snow falls can be pretty too.

I like the area I live in. It's a pretty safe city of just under 35000. It is a nice area to be and i can be anywhere else in Mi in about 2.5 to 3 hours. Like Matt and Tadd said there is hunting fishing camping 4 pro sports teams(even if they aren't always the best) a nascar track, a NHRA drag track and so much more. Also within a half hour of me I have a semi pro baseball stadium, an ohl hockey team, and 2 casino's. We do have a lot of summer time events and festivals. Most of the events have national concerts in the parks and plenty of food and drink to go around.

Thanks Member's for posting & sharing. It's great to read that the majority of members like where they are living.

Personally, I have not been to any other state & seldom get
to far from home....But, I've travelled everywhere on the World Wide Web.

I look forward to a Road Trip of North America in my future...

I hate it here.....House values sucks..... Been here 12 yrs and lots of people loseing there homes....(and i live in the nice part of town)

Low lifes moveing into the foreclosures... (cause they cant afford to pay for a real home)

But in a few years moveing to Arizona.....as my home base and the mrs and i should be fulltime (campers).....

To many thumping radios etc etc.. and people running the stop signs..speeding through the neighborhood and to many kiddies liveing here..... Someones not gonna be paying attention and hit 1 of those kids.....Thatll be a sad day here in Taylor....

Otherwise its great here ahahahahahahas

Eh, I kinda like where I live. Just when it rains good grief it floods BAD.

Close to the OBX and VA which is good.

But I'd love to move to AZ, TX, or somewhere up the east coast (Mass., Delaware, hell even Maine if it weren't for terrible winters.)
