Well, my only concern about the Buick is that it is a Supercharged high milage car...if it were the N/A 3.8L, i'd tell you to make sure the Intake manifold gasket was not leaking coolant, and otherwise say your good for miles to come...
150,000 miles (close to) is a lot on a supercharged engine...Supercharing ads stress to the engine. I'm no expert on the L67, but I would not think its overall life is expected to be as great as a naturally aspirated engine...Maybe i'm wrong. My grandma has a 1999 Bucik Regal, literally IDENTICAL to the 1998 your looking at...same color, everything...She has 75,000 miles on hers. Only problems she has had were: Valve cover gaskets leaking oil, power steering pump, ignition coil pack went bad, and front passenger side window regulator went out....nothing to serious.
Get more opinions on the expected life of a supercharged engine vs. normally aspirated engine...

I always got nervous when there where things like that because you don't know how well they maintained it. I do have a unlimited account right now. I signed up when I was looking at suburbans. PM me any vins you want me to check and I will run them.

ok then, thanks again michael, i now will consider the monte carlo, but it will be kinda stupid for me, but i need a good car for the winter, i don't want to mess up my 06, but then again what the hell will i do with 2 very nice cars, i'm kinda at a loss, i'm paying for 1 and i can pretty much buy the other one outright with no payment!! but i've also heard that the monte carlo does good in the snow, which we really don't get a lot of, but i would rather have a car that is paid for in the winter VS a car that is not paid for! does anyone agree with this or am i just plain old goofy??

I drive my Monte year round...but I live in CA, so the worst I see is some rain once in a while...
I guess if the weather really gets that bad that it is damaging to your car, then yea I would not want to ruin mine either...
