turbo monte has had many races, won most of them but also lost a few.

the cts-v has had some races as well, won all but one race with it.

the focus st had had many races as well, its about a 50/50 on wins vs loses with it lol

 

I have raced both my 1984 & 2002 Montes and have gotten trophies with both. Some of my best races I've had at the track did not involve a trophy though, it was the pride of grudge racing and beating someone whose mouth ran faster than their car!!!

Not ignoring the thread but when I was younger none of my races where ahh should we say exactly "Legal"

I don't any more because I want to be around for my grandkids and family.

I would like to take the Camaro out to a local track and do some LEGAL drag racing think that would be fun

 

Hi `Tadd, I think it's a wise decision to take it to the track & have some fun. I've noticed their 2 many inexperienced drivers with powerful cars that don't know how to handle the massive power of their machines. I'm beginning to believe there should be a special D.L. to own & drive a high performance car. Like Justin Bieber (LOL) or the teens I've seen in Miami driving 500 + HP Super Rides

 

the only car I ever raced was my 79 chevy monza. that was back in the 80's it was powered by a Buick turbo V6 from a Lesabre. that car was fast once i upgraded the turbo. let me see if I can find a pic of that car.

 

I've raced a good bit through the years. I remember taking the monte to the track back when I was 16 and it had only a HAI and exhaust. Obviously lost practically every race, except for maybe a few against like-budget high school friends, but it was still a blast!

Unfortunately, since I haven't had drag oriented tires on the car, even since the l67 swap, it's now mostly only good for roll racing and cruising anyways.


A couple of memorable recent ones were with the vette. I remember only having the car a short time and beating a early-mid 00s viper. It was definitely a very close race, and I'm sure I only won because of lack of the others drivers skill (or lack of want to really push the shifts), but it was a good clean run on both sides, and was my first real win against something in that league (sure I'd raced cars as fast and faster, but they were mostly souped up cheaper cars).

My other recent, memorable race was against an 03/04 mustang cobra, again in the vette (this time with headers and exhaust). I assumed it was stock or stockish (I guess how many cobras really are anymore?) since externally it had nothing really done, and I got absolutely destroyed. Don't get me wrong, I've lost my fair share of races, but I've never got walked on as bad as this. I happened to get a chance to talk to the owner later, and it was a big blower swap, e85, and drag radials with lots of other mods. He had a dyno printout that was well over 800 whp, and said he had done more mods since that. It was absolutely amazing how well it hooked, I would've swore it was on full slicks with how hard that thing came out of the hole.

 

I race dirt track. Last couple few years had a Cutlass Supreme body and chassis. Now have a 78 Monte Carlo body and chassis. I started when i was 14 and have won a total of 4 times.
