Of the two my driving preference leans towards the camaro but I like going in straight lines so the Gt500 is sweet. Give me a Mercades C63 AMG for that price tho. American cars either need to be cheaper or give you more for the money. Merc C63 AMG 0-60 is 4.3 sec vs ZL1 4.1 sec. Thats neck and neck and the AMG is built for the track.

Ok but here's its 3 BIGGEST downfalls,
1. Its an Automatic
2. Its 4 door, and not the 4dr that you actually will use for that purpose of a "family" sedan
3. Its not American, its worst, its German, when you break something it will cost you 5x-7x more than the repair cost of say the GT500 or ZL1

1. It has paddle shifters and a manual mode
2. its a coupe not a 4 door
3. it may be german but that just means it is better engineered and at that price it would not be my daily driver so when it hits 300k and starts wearing out I will be 230 years old.

Alot of mercs are 2 doors now. you can buy them as a coupe or sedan its not like bmw who only have sedans. There are 4 coupe models plus 3 roadsters offered by merc all 2 doors. chevy has camaro and corvett. hmm my pick is chevy is more family friendly, all the big three have switched to sedans because family guys can afford more then a 25 year old bachelor.

The ZL1 is also purpose built for the track. That's why it has a new magnetic suspension.

LoL `Mike (JG),
Yes the STS were amaz'in rides, but they were not tuned for the track like the ZL`1 for-sure..

The STS Caddy was engineered for performance /comfort, The ZL`1's are tuned/engineered for the TRACK...+ Super/Super Power

I will try to find the detailed article on what ZL'1 suspension, but I'm sure you already know & are just play'in with Mike

p.s. You should take the suspension off your Dad's 02 Caddy & transfer `it to your GTO 4-Sure
