Even in their most superpowered forms, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang are paragons of affordable performance. The base prices of the 580-hp Camaro ZL1 and the 662-hp Shelby GT500 together add up to $111,290, or $2285 less than one 638-hp Corvette ZR1.
But the ZL1 and the GT500 are more than just gas-addled tire vaporizers. You should expect as much for their price tags, which more than double those of the base V-6 models. Both are engineered to stand up to the extremes of racetrack driving. They also come with sophisticated electronic aids to make their lofty power reserves easily accessible to rank novices.

I agree with the Car & Driver results & I think they wrote a great article on both, + a super test + Vid's.

I'd be happy to drive/own either, but I really love the ZL`1..

same here, slicks and a 100 shot in the camaro puts you nearly in the same position lol

notice they did the 2012 camaro, not 2013..

Yep, last years bowtie against this years snake. I guess they didn't want to create too much disconcert with Ford by putting the snake up against this years model Camaro.

Give that Camaro the same 100 shot-n-slicks and you'll have the same result...the Camaro on top.

 

Same mods on the camaro will not yeild the same results heres what it take for a ZL1 to run 9s

& the ZL1 is the same for 2012 as 2013 so they prob took GMs test car all magazines use sence 2013 is not out yet

 

I like old school Chevy's but i love new school Ford's so I'd definitely go for the snake, it looks better IMO,

Wait till the shelby super snake is revealed, it'll probably eat the ZL1 alive!!!!!
