Speed traps to catch speeding motorists are probably
considered a relatively modern phenomena. However, as
early as 1910 the Police were checking the speed of
motorists.

Lol, I play forza3 quite a bit, on the loading screen when it loads the tracks, it shows a readout of some automotive history. I saw on there that the first speeding ticket was given in 1900 for going 45mph through the main road in Denver Colorado.

Its about time they caught that ruffian. Ive telegramed the constables on this matter several times. 24 within the city proper is against both God and country.

I looked up the inflation to convert $5 in 1910 money to today's equivalent. This is copied from http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ I thought it would be an interesting comparison to see the "actual" cost.
What cost $5 in 1910 would cost $113.69 in 2009.
