the z34 i belive is a 3.4 DOHC engine till 98 where they changed to the 3800. i dont think the ss started again till 2000.

i know the ss comes with upgraded handeling. most come with 90 plus percent of options. not sure if the z34 came with the extras or just the DOHC engine.

either way there both top of the line monte carlos.

The Z34 nameplate came about with the introduction of the 3.4 DOHC engine in the 1991 lumina. The nameplate was carried over to the monte carlo in 95 along with the 3.4 dohc. In 1998, the engine changed to the 3800 but the z34 nameplate still stuck until the body style changed in 2000. The z34 was the same trim level as the SS basically.
