Wheel cylinder removal how?!!

Default Wheel cylinder removal how?!!

Wondering how to remove wheel cylinder when nuts are rusted on and stripped. Also wondering how to remove shoes and hardware(springs etc keeping shoes on) spent weeks on this and thought its take a day at most..life

Without seeing it, here's a couple "generic" answers:
- special sockets (I believe called "extractors") can be tried.
- using a hammer and pounding on a slightly smaller socket (make sure to use 6 point sockets for this, 12 point and you are asking for it to only get worse). Goal is to have a tight fit, that hugs what is left of the nut. I've had this work a couple of times.
- Use a grinder or dremel with a cutting wheel, try to make flat spots you can put the open end of a wrench on and spin it off.
- Cut the studs/nuts off.

Thank you for advice i may have made it worse already by grinding. Socket wouldnt fit behind it, trying dremel today to cut off.

Check out YouTube. Do a search for 2000-05 Monte Carlo. There are alot of very informative how tos that are great. They have helped me many times

Wound up taking whole hub off to remove nuts behind hub. Woo hoo
