Wazup Felow Monte-ers? Carlos-ist? Whatever..Hey!
Just got a used 03 Monte a month an a half ago. I've only owned mid 90's B-Body Chevys, so I didn't want to stray too far from what I know. I have an intermediate level of mechanical knowledge... but coming from 5.7 V*, tire smoking power to the 3.6 is a tad humbling.
A few things i've noticed
1. The bumbers on these cars are made from paper mache composed of old Chineese newspapers. My god, they tear, scrach and buckle if stared at too hard.
2. My car shake uncontrollably at 60mph... Im gonna guess CV joints. Wheel bearings probably need replacement as well. Deep rubbing sound when my car is moving.
3. This car keeps momentum better than a 96 Impala. Without touching the gas, I can keep a speed of 65mph for a long time.
All and all I love the car.. Not bad for 177,xxx miles and a $1700 price tag.
Now where is my welcome committe with cake, ice cream and strippers?

Welcome. Sounds like you have a couple minor kinks to work out. But should not be a big deal.
Did you get a 3.4 or a 3.8 (as there is no 3.6 for that year Monte)?
