vin locations

Default vin locations

I am trying to locate my vin number on my 72 monte carlo can anyone help me out here and do all first generations monte carlo have the vin in the same location?

I thought they were located at the very bottom of the front windshield at the driver's side.

The only thing i found is the trim tag but thats underneath the hood so if anyone can tell me where else i may find the vin number like maybe some where on the frame or body man that would be really appreciate. It does not have the original engine so I cant look there.

Welcome to the forum!

Have you checked every sticker ya could find on the car? Such as in the door jamb or on the spare tire cover. Not real familiar with older cars.

Thanks Space. I was pretty sure it was in the usual spot on the driver's side, lower corner area of the windshield. But it's been a while since I've seen a first gen up close. And I figured that would've been the first place Umaga looked.

If it's not there, then perhaps it came off or was removed for some reason. Maybe the car was resto'd with parts from other cars?
