Default swapping my 3.5 to a 5.7

So I'm swapping my 2006 monte carlo 3.5 to a 5.7 and making it a back wheel drive but don't know what differential to put on it. Any opinions or comments?

To make the car RWD, it is going to take a lot of custom fabrication. To my knowledge, very few have ever done it (maybe 2 people who actually completed that type of build).

Not impossible, but time consuming and probably costly.

Moving forward with this project, keep us updated. Others would enjoy your journey and progress.

For the street a 12 bolt Chevy will do fine. If you are making loads of HP, the 9 inch Ford is the industry standard.

Not to be rude, but why do you keep bumping this same thread from the graveyard?

The original post is 6 years old (and was that member's one and only post ever), but you bumped it in 2021 and now in 2023...

There may be other people considering doing it. Sorry I wasted 10 seconds of your time.

Tons of people considering, less than a handful will ever actually do anything about it. People run out of steam pretty quick when they realize the huge amount of work+skill (or the huge cost to drop it off somewhere) involved. The topic of rwd swaps comes up probably once a week on one of the various W body pages, but only a handful have made it to completion. You've definitely got to have an absurdly close bond with a car to go through all of that when there are plentiful amounts of cheap RWD performance cars already on the market.

This specific thread on rear ends was an impossible one from the start. No details whatsoever on intended use, power level, or most importantly what chassis was going to be used for the swap itself.
