Default Sup monte fam! New carlo bro

Just wanted 2 say wassup and im new 2 this forum.

i Have a blue 2006 SS.

Actually im planning on installing a double din radio tomorrow.

Any troubles you all know i will run into?
I hear that I have to find a switched 12v power source? Any ideas?

hey welcome....if your gonna switch out the stereo your going to need the interface adapter so you keep all the chimes and other little things that you lose when you change the stereo (its pretty much apart of the electrical system in your car)...and if I can recall correctly it should supply you with your power source and all that....do you have onstar? if not this is the adapter to use http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2emE4XT...n-Adapter.html if you do its this one http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120OSLA...r.html?tp=3486

Actually you can go to ebay and find it for cheap. I got mine there and I have all my chimes etc. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories I got the one for like $50 shipped

Welcome to the MCF family. Should be a pretty straight forward install, assuming you've done this before. You will need 2 interfaces. 1 for the chimes (and Onstar), and 1 for the steering wheel controls.

Thanx, I recently purchased a cheap wire harness from ebay, but I will purchase the adapter probaly tomorrow so I can keep my chimes but I dont use my onstar....should I still purchase it??

Ok, I will also post more pics of my car after I wash it...just came back from frostburg (mountains) this weekend and got all muddy up there messin wit snow and sleet.

Lil bout me.... Live in D.C.....Recent college grad.....In grad school now....lookin for a job so I can keep my monte .... love my dog (lab/pit)..... just got my monte in january....switched from a 2000 cadi sts.... and I Love my MONTE
