Default Suggestions for modifying 2006 3.5L

Hi all!

I have a 2006 MC LT, 3.5 L. Last year, she ate #5 exhaust valve seat so the motor was rebuilt and bored out 0.030.

I'm looking for suggestions for bolt on parts for better performance, NOT CRAZY FAST. I need a new muffler, considering a better flowing muffler. Also, I'd like to either purchase or make a cold air intake. Once this is complete, she's going to get a professional tune.

I installed the following new AC Delco parts:
  • spark plugs
  • knock sensors
  • O2 sensors
  • stock throttle plate and accelerator pedal

Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Russ

Even though this thread is for a 3400, some of it holds true for the 3500:

I believe there are less mods to the 3500 as not as many people modded them. But, here is what I would look into:
- All the suspension items in that link *should* hold true on your 2006, see what you would consider and verify they hold true.
- Do a resonator delete on your exhaust.
- Do a U-bend delete on the exhaust.
- I would say coils, but the 3500 uses a different coil set up.
- Do a CAI.
- Consider half shafting the throttle body.
- Look into areas on the throttle body, upper and lower intakes that can be ported or possibly improved for better air flow.
