rear strut tower bar and sway bar kit from gm direct

Default rear strut tower bar and sway bar kit from gm direct

Can someone please tell me if the part # 12456148 rear tower bar is the same as this other post that said they used part # 12498648 with don romes braces for rear...i have a2000 monte carlo ss and it came with front so i am wondering if this kit with heavy duty front ,rear sway bar and strut tower bar in order i wrote part numbers ...12498642 front with insulator and ends links,rear 12498642 with nsulators ,strut tower brace 12456148.....its from gmpartsxirect.com....please explain what i need for rear strut tower bar and where do i get don romes braces at.....any experiences i should know about please

The front STB and the rear STB are actually the same part. If you are getting different part numbers, one might be a kit that includes both.

Don Rome is an independent person active on some forums, his website is where you would buy his brackets, he also sells the bar I believe.

thanks for the info no both of them are the same number but seen somewhere it was different.....can you tell me why i cant post anything and have to hijack each thread?????

part # 12456148 is for one STB. part # 12498648 is the same bar but two of them. Btw, you don't need any braces if you want to install the STB in the rear. Just enlarge on of the holes and you can use the existing strut bolts

ok ill checkout the rear one when i get it but i will have to move my ground for amp then if i enlarge hole..chibi did you notice a difference in rear sway bar being on and is it worth the mod??

If you have not purchased anything, it might be worth considering waiting for Black Friday as ZZP puts there STBs on sale. I have a pair to put on my Monte and I think it was cheaper then GM STBs with the Don Rome brackets.

Just a thought.

What do you mean you cant post? Your posts are showing up in the thread you created. Are you having trouble starting new threads? When you click on a thread section and go to the top of the said section, there should be a New Thread buttion.


Is this button at the top of the thread section?

I found this online.12498648 Chevy Strut Tower Braces at GM Performance Motor & Parts It looks like it includes both for that price?
