Not really new, but its been so long since I had a Monte Carlo.
Hello everyone. It feels good to be back on the forum. I had sold my monte carlo because it was giving me all kinds of trouble. Then I got a an 98 Intrigue, which wasn't that bad, but nothing to turn heads. After that I got a riviera, which I still have now. The fuel pump is acting like it wants to go on it though. Today though I became the owner of a brand new to me 2003 black monte carlo ss for a really good price. Of course the car has some electrical issues(cluster backlights dont work, the odometer and the radio display are barely visiable, my windows dont work; they will roll down, but won't come back up, ABS light on, bald front tires, service traction system on, crack in the windshield, the car is dirty, leaks oil, but other than that everything else is fine, lol) I'm going to attempt to bring her back to life, so you know I will need everybody's help to do. If you have any input, that would be great.
2003 Monte carlo ss 188,000 on the dash, the previous owner did provide me with proof that some had swapped the engine out of this car, so it could be less. The motor runs just fine and the tranny shifts good.
Thanks everybody, its good to be back.

Welcome back. I just became an owner myself of a 2000 Monte Carlo LS. Mine has 161, 925 on the clock. Like yours, mine needs some work. Front and rear bumper covers need to be replaced, passenger door lock only works manually, and there is a slight shimmy from the steering wheel. She also needs a fresh coat of paint too. I want to get a Wizaird CAI for it as well.

Thanks MC1978. I wouldn't mind doing some mods later on down the line, but first I need to get all these problems taken care of. With my last Monte I had quite a few problems hopefully this time around I will be able to fix all of them.

Sounds like you have your plate full, but from what your describing on your initial assessment it's not to overwhelming. Just some TLC and a few trips to the bone yard for parts. Good Luck! And Welcome back Kotter welcome back to where you belong...
