New to the site so thought I would introduce myself. Ive got an 85 SS with T-tops, silver with Oxblood interior. Original 305 HO runs great, superb condition. Gonna swap in the 350 and retain all emissions for the factory look. Planning on the T5 swap as well and cant wait, I need that 3rd pedal so I can execise my left foot while driving. Ive done all my own work now for about 15 years from engine machining to oil changes to reupholstery. My 1st car was a 78 MC, then an 82, then an 88SS, and now an 85SS. Ive only had a couple of other cars (GMs of course). i still love them Montes. Glad to be hear and hopefully learn some more.

I'll extend the welcome as well! do you have any pics? That is actually what I would like to do with mine when I paint it is go silver with the stock striping and everything. My car was oriignally black, but its too much work to go that route IMO

Yes I have pics and will get loaded up, just gotta find time right now. Weekends all I really have. Mine does have a goofy hard molding under the stripe on the doors/fenders. i dont like it. I like solid colored Montes no stripes, but thats just me.

Looks very nice! I change my mind all the time, but I have always liked the look of a basically stock '85/86 SS in silver. I'm not a fan of the body side mouldings on most cars either.
