RE: New SS Pace Car
no i um decided i would take the traction control off and give it some gas, i broke the passenger side drive-axle, i had it home and fixed and back on the road in 3 hours though so it wasn't a big deal.

RE: New SS Pace Car
Wow, not bad. So you didn't have to drop the cradle, because if you can do that in 3 hours or less then you're a god amongst mechanics...
Lol!
I like that color, I dunno, I've always had a soft spot for red/yellow 6th gens. My first Monte Carlo(second GM Coupe) was a 2003 LS that was red. The pace car editions definitely look cool with the silver ground effects/graphix.
Suggestions? Hmm... Hardened axle? lol!
just joking, I would say start with the intake/exhaust if it doesn't have anything done already. With the u-bend everyone is replacing, a good balanced exhaust/intake it shouldn't be rocket science to see a good 20hp gain with 400$ or so.
Plugs/wires, another good 4-5 hp possibly, depending on the condition of the stock ones.
I don't know how it would look, maybe get one of the resident photochoppers to give it a racing stripe? I mean if ur into that, I think it would go well with the checkered flags on the sides, and the silver GFX.
then... TINT... definitely tint...
But, whatever ur decision welcome to our community! Glad too see another member that's not afraid to get down n dirty and wrench. Personally my goal is to soon be doing all my own maintenance. I do some things every now and then, but really getting into the mechanics of it has always got me nervouse.
Wishing you many healthy/happy miles in ur new Monte Carlo!
p.s. the rustang in the background, if that's what the previous owner replaced the monte with be sure to school him in it... a few easy mods and even a GT won't be out of your league.
EDIT: I just noticed you said the furd was ur sisters... in any event, do us fellow Monte Carlo enthusiasts a favor and beat her, if she's the racing type, lol.

RE: New SS Pace Car
Well thankfully it had broke down less than half a mile from my house and I immediately called a wrecker and then another call to my local parts store for the part. Oh and you beat believe that I flat out smoked the mustang. Something to note though, the day I got my new car was the day that her car starts leaking powersteering fluid, I think her car is jealous, lol. And yeah I'll tinting it as soon as financially possible
