new to the site. 2003 monte carlo
Hello guys and girls. My name is eric I'm 33 and bought me a 2003 monte for 1500 bucks off a friend. His father bought it brand new and he passed away little over a year ago so my buddy sold it to me at a great price of 1500. The car is black w/ black cloth interior 150k. And yes I have had some of the same issues all you have had. Like passenger floor being wet, car is sluggish and don't wanna shift or accelerate. The water problem I fixed. Was a combo of the window/cowl seal and clogged drain hose. As for the sluggish part, my girlfriend took it to her work and they said theyou put some parts on it under the hood and blew out the exhaust. Car runs and shifts fine now. I don't know what they did cause I didn't talk to the mechanic yet. But i was getting code saying antifreeze sensor, or sensor and something else. When I find out I'll post it. Also I have oil in overflow and radiator that I still have to take care of.. I hope it's not a head gasket cause I don't have a facility to fix it at the moment. But I joined to see what other people's looked like and tips and tricks for monte carlos.

Well the car is doing the same thing again ( sluggish and having to give it a lot of gas to go nowhere) guess it's time to check the resonator and cat. **** if it's the resonator I'm just gonna cut it out and put a damn straight piece of exhaust tube in its spot. Just hope it don't make it too loud. I do hear slight rattling sometimes under the car in that area. If it's the cat, well I will just cut that out and buy another lol

Welcome to the site. Good luck with the issues. I had the leak on ps floor too. Regarding the sluggish issue. Definitely check the cat and resonator. I had my resonator removed and your concern about volume shouldn't be an issue
