the pads i got are from advanced, and ive never had a problem with them, but while talking to the counterperson he told me they have had some products with SERIOUS defects. one person bought a pully for their suberu, and the pully failed, surpintene failed, and caused catistophic engine failure, over $4,000 in damages, so i understand where you are coming from. buyer beware, lol. if i were you, i would still get the standard pads so you pass inspection and your old ones dont eat up the rotors, caus rotors are expencive. once you are togeather and driving, look into the aftermarket for shoes and rotors, there are plenty of members on here who have done this and could point you in the right direction. i wouldint worry about your headlights too much, but check to see if the brace on the back of the headlight bucket is cracked, as its plastic. my dad has a 96 z34 with this problem, all we need is a new headlight bucket & brace, and not the whole radiator support, which was a plesant surprise. we need to visit the salvage yard to get one.

are there any other issues/ problems that could fail inspection?

Ryan, my baby is road worthy I drive her EVERY day. The frame is pulled, I replaced the headlight and they rewelded the bracket back to the body (was smashed in that driver's side corner), that stuff is TRUE. It's not 100% factory A1 shape, but it is about as fixed as it will get, the hood is just up a 1/2 inch on the passenger side across the front (I'll point it out when i have time to take a picture) as you're looking right at the grill where the hood CLOSES.. it's not completely straight, but it's close. Who cares, it drives.

The brakes right now are pretty well shot those are getting done probably friday morning (or monday if I'm lazy) I wanted to look into buying and ordering aftermarket parts, I hate autozone's parts and advanced auto is too expensive for what you get. I'm looking at ceramic pads. And I need rotors, they're kind of warped. I was looking into drilled, slotted, or both drilled and slotted, but autozone doesn't have the baer decela's in stock and I don't want to order anything brake wise off ebay. So if anybody could direct me to someplace that has decent aftermarket rotors and pads PLEASE pm me with a link.

Oh and ryan, I have this black bottle like thing that has a hose or something coming out of it that was attatched to the bottom driver's side of my bumper. No clue what it is but the hose / wire whatever it was was pinched right thru. And, when i use my heat or ac (well the ac doesn't work somebody blew a HOLE in something don't know what) i get no air coming out my vents, but it will work on my defroster and floor levels.

Yeah... she's a REAL piece of work.....

YES! That's it!!! WTF is that thing? And it doesn't matter if i'm under acceleration or not.... I do not get any air out of my vents PERIOD. My ac system is also broke. Wonder how much THATS gonna cost me....I'm probably going to have to take my bumper off to get that thing rescrewed back in.... the place they had it in was horrible I'll agree... but vacuum hose is probably not such a hard purchase I get that anywhere. My vacuum pump thingie has water in it... is that ... Bad? lol I shake it around and you hear something floating in it... should I just buy a new one?
