Default New from NE Ohio

Hello-
My ‘11 Camaro wasn’t working anymore as a daily driver so I got an 02 Monte Carlo SS. Bright red with a black leather interior. Some one took good care of it. Everything works, the interior is nice and the exterior has appropriate wear for an almost 10 year old car. Despite it’s good condition, it does have a couple of common W-body issues. (The Forum really helped here) 1. the clunk in the steering (both SS’s I test drove had it) which I solved with a shot of lithium grease. And the Service Traction System/ ABS warning. (only happens during slow, hard left turns) That will be fixed soon with 2 new front hubs. I’ll do both just to be done with it. The only other issue I have is an intermittent Low Coolant Level warning upon start up. The level is fine and the temp is where it should be- probably just a sensor(?). What surprises me about the car is it’s good mileage. I do mostly freeway driving and I’m getting 31+ mpg. And with an engine that doesn’t have overhead cams, variable valve timing and direct injection. They haven’t made much progress in 10 years have they? The only thing they’ve done is add lot’s of weight and more power to move it around. And made them way more expensive. I’d post a picture but I can’t at this point. All in all, I like the car.

Welcome to the forum!
What part of northern Ohio are you from? I'm located in Mentor (about 20 miles East of DownTown Cleveland).

Welcome to the forum!

You can just unplug that sensor (on the radiator, near the battery under the cap) and the light will leave you alone. Just keep an eye on the fluid
