if that isnt a face palm situation I dont know what is. Yeah, he said he spotted it on one of the side roads. So I guess thats a new method of search i guess since alot of people dont advertise online.

welcome, i love the 86-88 monte SS, they are RWD and i think they had V8 like the 06-07 monte's. i have an 05 and i like it, it had held up well. good luck! i do like most of them myself, but dont know too much about them

i knew it! that is one reason why i liked them, also because of the body type, they look beautiful, my parents would not let me get one. now i know those are the 4th generations. it has the 305...is that the amount of HP or just the size of the engine that is the 305???

It's the displacement of the engine.

305 hp? they wish haha. I think at the wheels it is 186 horsepower stock. A few bolt ons can probably get you to the low 200's though.

Its 180hp at the crank IIRC. Probably closer to 145-150 at the wheels.

Oh really? ok my bad. I thought it was 186 at the wheels. Such low power with a 5 liter engine. Where can I post for help on my monte's performance? once I get it that is. I feel like a 5.0 engine can be upgraded to have alot more horse power than 180.

I think that's why a 350 swap is so common on the 4th Gens, just because of the amount of aftermarket for the 350 and that it's a direct bolt-in swap.
