Any 01-03 Monte Carlo with the High Sports kit will say Limited Edition on the speedo. It was just a part of the HS Kit option.
I think you need to ask a chevy dealership to pull up your VIN and see if it was indeed a real RCR DE Edition, or if they just faked it.

To me it sounds like someone had a 2002 Monte SS with the high sport option. Then tried to imitate the Dale Earnhardt edition.
A real Dale Earnhardt edition would have the #3 and Dale's signature in the speedometer, and on the dash above the glove box. Among other things.

I had a friend who has a black & silver hs monte that was turned into a earnhardt edition, had everything except the dash plaque & gauges, nvr had the heart to tell her it was a fake but it was origonally a 01 pace car
Took a more rare car and turned it into a fake less rare car. Genius.
