Hello everybody! I am new here. I have been a life long fan of the 4th generation Monte SS. I own an 86 SS that was purchased new by my wife's parents back in April of 86. I became the second owner in 2003 after my father-in-law passed away and left the car to my wife and I.
He and I worked on this car quite a bit restoring it to factory specs. We won several car shows with it to include two class winners at Super Chevy. Since then she has had a mild make over where I upgraded to Tune port injection, 17x9.5 ws6 Trans am wheels, lowering springs, headers, 3 inch true dual exhaust with spin-tech mufflers and custom retro Super Sport style stripes.
She has been on jack stands in my shop since late 2009 from a T5 tranny swap that is still unfinished. I am getting motivated to finish this and since my work schedule will be slowing down due to sequestration.
I am in need of a Five speed chip for the computer and swap out the speedometer gears for my speedo to read properly. A custom console is in the works as well. I hope to get this car back on the road this spring and once again enjoy cruising it around!
