New Member from Baltimore YEAH!
Hello all....I am a new proud owner of a 1987 Monte Carlo LS, a true blooded ex-Granny grocery getter that i picked up for cheap. An LS model, 4.3 Liter EFI, 54,000 original miles (4,000 put on it over the past year by the P.O. who bought it from the O.O. about 10 months ago) Up until today my daily driver has been a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass, (yeah Classicoldsmobile.com!!) but the gasoline loving 455 c.i. engine in it needed a break so I finally happened across a much more efficiant G-Body Monte to do my daily dirty business. I have always been Monte Carlo guy. I grew up riding around in the backseat of my dad's 1970 M.C., and way back in the year 2000, my first car was a 1972 M.C. I had to sell it a few years ago, which i regret every day of my life, but I finally have another one. Anyway I look forward to learning anything and everything as this is my first classic with an EFI. When I took off the aircleaner today, I had absolutely no idea what the hell I was looking at. I can rebuild a QuadraJet with my eyes close, but I have A LOT to learn about this newer Monte. So please bare with me cause I am going to be picking brains!

Thanks SpinEm...very pretty SS. I test drove one of those when they came out. Loved it, but couldn't afford it! The classic Oldsmobile is my usual haunt, so its nice that now I get to spread the love to some other forums. We are all GM right? That's all that matters. Now Fords...........that is a different story! No offense to the Blue Ovals. As long as your a car guy/gal, that's alright with me. I just read why I cant post pictures. That sucks. I haven't seen that over on Classic Olds yet, but they have the same forum setup. Anyway I will just have to wait for you guys to gaze upon the magisty that is my new Monte. It is actually a Rustoleum coated monster, all original but fairly worn in places. No rust, no major body damage, interior is ok, engine runs well, but has a funky grumble if you rev it at idle, but all in all very mechanically sound. I am a body guy myself, and I was so happy to get this because all of its major issues ( and there are not many) are esthetic, the FUN part of restoring a car. Screw engine work.

Ah speaking of cutlasses, I miss my '92 Ciera. I saw it the other day and I was like I miss it! It's still going strong at 190,000 miles. The guy who bought it put like 15,000 on it since I had it. Ah sorry! but anyways, it's great to see a new member who has an old school monte! Hope you enjoy it here!

Good old Baltimore.... Where else can 13 people be shot and killed over the 3 day Memorial day weekend, or have a city cop shoot an unarmed marine 13 times because he touched a girls "buttocks and genitals" and justifies it by saying he was trying to protect both her life and his. Got to love it!
