Hey ! My names Ben, I'm 19 and I own a 2004 Intimidator SS, bought at 77K miles in 2023 and she is up to 125K now. I bought her because my dad bought an 05 SS from a dealership in 2005 and when i saw this one for 8 grand, I had to get it. She has been absolutely great to drive, with a little bit of issues with the transmission ( as all great FWD GM transmissions do ). I do not plan to go all out on mods unless the motor needs to be rebuilt. I do not believe the block has ever been opened. Anyways I'm sure everyone here knows enough about monte carlos, the only other cars i've been actively looking for is a DMC 12 and early 2000s trans am.
I am glad to have found a forum about my car and I wish i had found it sooner. Thanks for having me !
Here she is.
Here she is.

Welcome to the forum!

Looks like a nice Monte! Keep her maintained and you should get lots of good miles. I have one with less than 100K and the other one is over 200K.

And rare I see anyone call a "Delorean" by the real model, the DMC 12. Do you know why it is 12?

If i remember correctly, the 12 stood for what the price point was aimed at, 12,000$. I used to be super obsessed with Back To The Future, went as far as meeting Christopher Lloyd and got a picture with him as a kid! I actually have most of the casts autographs, besides the infamous Michael J Fox. The DMC12 in my opinion is a absolute beautiful cocaine fueled masterpiece lol.

You would not believe what I bought last night however, I came across a 1995 C4 corvette with 102,000 miles for 3 grand ! It runs and drives great, i just replaced the stuck thermostat this morning. Going to fix her up to the best I can, have some fun with her and re sell her for hopefully some profit.

Thank you for the welcoming !

The paint and interior is in great shape for being 30 years old. Need to replace the weather strips and as a precaution going to replace distributor system and fuel injectors.

I always heard that the 12 was because this was the 12 prototype/concept. But I googled it and perhaps my information was wrong and yours might be correct.

BTTF is a great trilogy. I have seen people dissect it and point out potential time travel errors. But no matter what, it was a great series. My favorite was BTTF2. I love when the Western Union guy shows up, everything in it was AWESOME! If you never looked up about Michael J. Fox and how he pulled off being part of the movie while doing Family Ties, it's worth hearing that story.

Nice score on the Corvette. Personally, I would leave the injectors alone unless you have a real reason to mess with them. As for the distributor system, is that an LT1 with an Opti-Spark?

Welcome! Nice Intimidator!

Nice lil backstory. My first car was a full yellow 2003 SS HS which my dad actually leased new and then I bought it off the lease the summer before my first year of college. I commuted to college, about 100 miles/day for 6 years. The 2003 SS got me through 5 of those years and a couple months into my final year I had a lady turn in front of me and total it. Two weeks later I bought my 2006 SS which I still own today, 14.5 years later! Bought the 2006 SS with 61k miles and today it has 104k. Funny thing is, I was never a member of this Forum when I owned my 2003 SS - I joined roughly a year after buying my 2006 SS.
