Just wanted to say hi, new here from the middle of Nebraska. Recently purchased a 05 m/c LS for my daughter for a school. Been reading A LOT about the issues most have experienced. You have an exceptional data base here!

Emailed The_Manaic early about the PCM service I read here on the forum and was letting him know what I had going on intermittently... Same as what I read here throughout multiple threads. The infamous "delay then go take off" and very abrupt shifts. Very intermittent, and only occurred after a very long (500 mile) road trip getting off the interstate to inner city driving...And abrupt shifting at low speeds in town driving...
So,,,, I completely serviced the transmission/filter and fluid. Had very clean pan underneath while trans pan was draining, then removed the pan and there was next to nothing and I mean NADA in the pan as far as signs of ANY internal failure, no filings, nor brass, and the magnet was for the most part clean other then some old oil residue from breakdown just film on it and the bottom of the pan. I honestly don't think it had been changed in the last 50k plus miles...If ever.... So far so good, shifting thru all gears is crisp and quick, not abrupt and banging. Going to keep driving, put some more miles on and see how things go, am very relieved with what I DIDNT find in the pan after all the threads I read.... Was worried I just bought a boat anchor! lol LOVE THIS CAR! My daughter does too! Feels good to put her in such a comfortable riding, quiet, roomy, larger, safe car!!!!!
This is only the 2nd forum I have ever joined and you all seem just as great as my friends in the Kawasaki Vulcan Forum. That's where the V2K on my name comes from, we all ride the largest V-Twin production bikes built. 2053cc V twin (125cu. in) DIPSTICKS quit making them in 2010 tho!!!! Was bad marketing on there part is my opinion.... Nothing but 2 hands full of HANG THE HECK ON !!!! 4"1/8 bore and 5" stroke, stock 120h.p and 140ft lbs torque... Learned A LOT on that forum! Little tricks here and there to "unleash the beast" if you will. Have done a few mods, getting to old to go to much faster! Road from Nebraska to east central Texas (hour from Louisiana) over memorial weekend and met up with about a dozen of the guys on that forum... Finally got to put a face to all the helpful posts on the many threads.. Was a great time and made some new lifetime friends....Great people!!!!!
When I had those couple hiccups with the transmission, a Monte Carlo forum is the first thing I looked for! I couldn't have been more right on ! Thanks Again, look forward to checking the forum out more as time goes on. Take Care, Co0terV2K!!!
