Default New Kind of

Hello
Joined last year but I only lurk from time to time. I am getting ready to buy my first MC. In Fremont CA. Looking to get an 06 or 07 SS. Seems like the cars really drop in value after leaving the lot.

Welcome to the MCF.
BIG TIME they drop in value! Don't be afraid to look for a low milage used Monte on Ebay, as long as it's from a dealer, and not an individual. Also, cars.com is the best place in the internet right now to find any average vehicle.
My '04 Intimidator was an Ebay car. Less than 5,000 miles and under 7 months of in-service, mint condition. Found it at a F__d dealer 600 miles away in PA. MSRP of $33,900, and I got it for $17,900 + $600 to have a friend with an enclosed trailer go get it. I saved about $5,000 from what I was looking at here, and because it was low milage and a low in-service date, there was still a TON of warranty left.
Don't forget to have them send you a carfax and get a list of all warranty work done by a GM dealer, available at any GM dealer with your VIN#. THAT'S IMPORTANT. Good way to find a lemon before it's bought, as I found one when looking.
Good luck

Hello, yes a new car is the no.1 negative equity item you can purchase.

That is why leasing is preferred by those who can afford it. Leasing allows the bank to take the depreciation.

Thanks for info.
The dealers around here will not negotiate on a New 06 MC sitting on lot for two years. I found an 06 Black SS with 12K for 17K, it is a dealer certified one with carfax.
I stopped at ford dealership and I see one car that doesn't go down, the Shelby GT 500. Boy are they greedyit has a30K mark up.

Good luck in your search for your Monte. Mini Coopers don't really depreciate over time.

Neither do trailer homes.
