Not a problem and that's okay, we all gotta start somewhere!

There's not a huge difference, I agree with the below, headers are worth it for the price and you can find them pretty cheap on ClubGP.

I like to go on ZZPerformance.com (under grand prixs) and find what I want or need for my car and then I find it on ClubGP or wait for it to show up.

If you're not very handy you may struggle with them but it's definitely do-able. (I struggled changing the oil when I first got the car so if I can do headers, etc., most people can probably do it as well lol, just takes some research, time and $$$ )

I have the Speed Daddy headers so if you're interested in any more info as to what else you'll need etc. just let me know. I've got a few tips that you might be interested in as well
x2^

He struggled with changing the oil and now he did his own topswap.

Thank you very much, Rick! I will sure to be a regular on here. Right now I am in the research and saving stages of my epic journey with this car.

Update on my research here for everyone... I found a place that will drop a LS4 (and make necessary changes, obviously) in and convert me to a manual transmission for 12-14 grand. T'was about what I expected. Any input?

For 12-14 grand, just buy a camaro

It's not going to be worth it, especially since you're still stuck with FWD.

I would look into just building the 3800 if you really like the body style and all of the monte (which is why i keep mine over a camaro).

You can make the 3800 as fast as the LS4 pretty quickly

But at the end of the day, I can build on the LS4 even more, correct? In my honest opinion, a car doesn't get any sexier than a perfect Monte Carlo. :p Call me crazy. And the manual transmission conversion is almost a must to me, unfortunately. I want to really enjoy driving this machine.

I am not against some temporary boosts to the 3800, for now, though. Know of any cheaper boosts that I would be able to keep, if I did switch to the LS motor?

The problem with the LS4 is you're limited to CAI, headers and turbo basically, there's some stuff you could do like porting and coil packs, wires etc, but there's not a whole lot that's available for it, not available yet at least.

If you're going to do it, do it all at once, Manual LS4 with cartuning turbo kit would be absolutely absurd and awesome

Absurd is absolutely what I am going for. I am 22 years young, and since I was about 10, I've droooolled over Montes. I don't know what it is about them, but whatever I decide to do, it will be with this car. It's a little too dark right now, but I will try and take a picture tomorrow, and you all can help me give him/her a fitting name! :p
