Welcome to the Forum.

Quite a bit on here in terms of modifications. Lowering is always one I like to throw out there. Lowered both my previous 03 and current 06 Monte Carlos and have been very happy with the ride quality in both setups. Gives the car a nice stance as well.

Ya I was thinking about that after winter only problem is my heat exchanger sits so low as it is lol already replaced it once pulling out of a driveway. Would spring compressors work on montes? Not sure if that's what it's called they bolt on springs and you tighten to lower

Coil overs are always a bad idea IMO. They are the cheap easy way to do it though. I assume the heat exchanger is for you SC? Whay not put it in the front bumper where there is so much room?

It is for the intercooler ya and it is tucked into bumper in the best spot it can be and it's still low.

Why are they a bad idea? I had them on my Chevelle and I didn't notice much change other then perfect ride height

I don't recommend "clamping" springs down to lower because if by some chance they break its not gonna be good. If you wanna lower it buy springs and do it right.

Also window tint is nice. If your not using a gen v sc you could upgrade to it. More trans work would be a good idea as well 9

Mostly cause ricers use them hahaha just kidding. They compress the springs beyond where they are normally supposed to ride, so even though the ride "feels" great it could be wearing down on the car more. Also your compressing the strut beyond where it is supposed to sit and that will cause the strut to wear out faster. Also like turbo monte said.

Anything that isn't normal is going to wear quick. What you're saying is to compress a stock coil spring that isn't suppose to be compressed 100% of the time. You'll wear both the spring and strut quick which can result in premature wear or part failure in worst case. That can then lead to stressing other components, etc. Not a good idea. That's why they make lowering springs.
