Welcome to the Forum

Don't know exact numbers, but some 04 SS's did still have the naturally aspirated 3800 L36. In 05 GM switched over to all supercharged 3800 L67's for the SS and the naturally aspirated 3800 L36 went to the LT.

Welcome to the forum. I lived in Kentucky for several years (and then was stationed at Fort Knox at one point as well). As has already been mentioned, all 05 SS's had the L67. But for 04 some were the NA L36 and some were the L67.

Good question, so I googled it.

Wow, the pace cars have really low production numbers. They'll be collectors some day if not already.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everybody .

Welcome to the forum, and no not all ss's were supercharged for 2004 I have a 2004 ss and its the naturally aspirated 3800 series 2. I always joke that its probably a good thing it isn't if it was I would probably get myself in trouble.

This car wasn't even a though to me. I was looking for a Grand Prix or Bonneville with the 3.8. Saw the Monte on the front row and took a quick look. The more I looked the more I liked, so went back in just to check with the salesman and he said it was supercharged.

So glad my son called to check in on us and told him about the car, he said to double check on it not all are supercharged, so glad I did.

I'm 6'3 and have plenty of legroom, leather heated seats, and the factory stereo is killer. Not to flashy but sporty as heck. I just didn't know anything about superchargers and concerned about insurance and with it being a daily driver how would that affect gas mileage. That extra horsepower would be tempting.
