I'm sure there are many others here that have and used different products. I used Krylon Fusion, the paint that's supposed to "bond" with plastics. Washed/scrubbed the cover a couple of times with a good dishwashing soap, believe I used Dawn, to remove any oil. Painted several coats, just kept going until most of the can was gone. Put down some decal overlays from reflectiveconcepts.com (same ones sold at PFYC.com) and:

That was several months ago... October at the earliest and it still looks the same, except a little more dusty. My Monte is a daily driver 35 highway miles one way each day so the engine has a chance to get pretty warm and it still looks great. Hope this helps!

Here's the best write-up I have ever read for a mirror and show quality finish

http://www.grandprixforums.net/paint_plastic.php

-Brian, don't look at that site, you will want to redo your hard work :P

Think I saw it before I did mine, don't have the patience to do that much work, shoot washing it twice, and waiting for it the paint to dry, and then giving the decals another couple of days to adhere were almost too much for me. As a matter of fact I tried rushing the decals a little and screwed them up, but had no intention of it being a show car, just a little personalization. So it's all good!
