Default New guy on the block

Hi everybody, new member my tag is Zman (aka:Mark), I am the new owner of an 2002 Monte Carlo SS. Really love this car even tho I was always fond of the classic 70', 71', and 72' and never gave any others much thought? I have found the lines of this car to be extra special inside and out! Being so new to this car that I'm still finding out where everything is on a daily basis. I guess you could say I was a quick buyer because I forgot to ask where everything was other than the radio and heater? Anyway, I'm glad to be aboard and look forward to hearing from you and any stories or advice you might have?

Turn down the radio and check the stuff that is vital to the operation of the car.
Oil, Oil filter should be changed right away if the seller hasn't done that recently.
What does the Transmission fluid look like when you checked it? should be a nice Red color, if it's brown you should get it changed.
Check your power steering pump to see if the levels are where they should be. Brake Fluid check that but don't over fill.
Next is the Air filter open the Box and see what it looks like. They are cheap and change it if it's dirty.
Check the wear on the tires?
Listen to the Car as you drive it if you hear a wapping noise as you drive you need to have the alignment checked, or the Tires balanced.
Nothing scary here just normal maintenance things.

Good luck with your Monte!

Thank you for the advice on the check up for my new MC, I hadn't thought of all of those items to check. But I will first thing today. I appreciate the heads-up, I was an excited buyer and let those important thing slip my mind or just go without the thought. Not any more tho, thanks.
