New guy
Glad to see you made it out of your GAGT alive.
What year was yours? Did you have the usual LIM gasket problems and blower motor resistor problems like the rest of us had?

i never had any trouble with the blower motor resistor, i bought the car used and just before i went to go buy it i looked it up on car fax and saw that it had been in a pretty severe accident. so the owner allowed me to have my mechanic look at it and make sure nothing was wrong. when i got home with the car i did some cleaning, and in the driver's seat back pocket i found the repaire bill for the accident. it was almost 10k worth of repaires! but never totalled. and the only gasket i had to replace on it was the intake manifold gasket. and the water pump went out on it within 10 minutes of owning the car, i don't think it was meant to be.
The lower intake manifold gasket would be the one I was referring to. I was a member on a grand am forum, and everyone with a 99 and up GA with the 3.4 litre 3400 engine had the L.I.M. gasket leak. $1200 repair around here.
I also had the water pump go on me in a mall parking lot. I bought the car brand new in 99, and got rid of it back in august when I added up all my repair bills. I spent over 10 grand in repairs. No accidents or cosmetic repairs. All mechanical problems. They were all common repairs on GA's. Hence the reason I traded in my grand am, and bought my Monte Carlo. Did some homework, and with a lot of great advice from the members here (and other sources too), found the Monte Carlo to be more reliable.
Hopefully your car will be good to ya.

wow 1200 that is alot. i paid half that or so. keeping in mind to different locations completely but thats a lot! my MC has been good so far its been stored every winter except this year when i bought it, but i have washedthe under bodya lot to keep thesalt off of it. and of course the rims for sure are taken off right now and stored in my garage. all i have heard thoughis the GM 3.8L enginewill run forever with the proper maintenance and care. so i knew a MC would be the right choice for me.
