Default New to the Forum from Virginia

New to the forum. Looking for help and advice from people who have experience in upgrading Montes. I have a Third Gen., '78 Monte which is in stock form, body in good shape, no rust.. The Monte is a "305" automatic trans with a bench seat. My problem is figuring out what would be a suitable donor car for Bucket seats and a console, looking to switch to a floor shifter. Would like to change the 10" rear to a more up to date rear with disc brakes. Any suggestions out there.

Welcome to the site - have you thought about using the other GM A Bodied cars out there for donor cars?

Welcome to the site. The grand prix, cutlass or buick regal could all be suitable donors. Also you may want to look at interior parts from 80's or 90's models if older parts are hard to find. Some nice late 70's swivel buckets would be a great find tho.

Welcome to the MCF. If you are looking to make the change with the least amount of work and have it look factory you should get the parts from a 78-88 Monte Carlo with buckets and automatic console. You can also get the same from the same year range Buick Regal, Oldsmobile Cutlass, or Pontiac Gran Prix. The appearance will not be factory but the effect will be the same. After that you can use just about anything else but you have to be prepared to do the mods.
