Hello everyone! My name is Barbara.
My age...Um.....I am older than my car but not yet 50!!
1984 Monte Carlo LS 350 short block Chevy with 400 trans.
A little about myself--In 36 days, the Monte and I will be making our first pass down the dragstrip about 3 miles from here...but there alot of work to do first!!
I am mechanically inclined but no mechanic by any means. Getting dirty and greasy does not bother me in the slightest and I am eager to learn as much as I can about working on my car. I am very much mechanically teachable but please be patient with me and my questions/non-mechanic terminology.

Hello Barbare, welcome to the Forum! Sounds like you have a pretty fast Monte, what do you think it will run?

Thanks for the welcome. Not sure yet as I have a few things to get done before I really cut loose on it and see what she's got.
Needs an upper ball joint on passenger side before I try to see how fast it will go and I currently have NO gauges and have to get those put in this week. The dash was 100% gone when I bought it..LOL
I am hoping for mid 16's to begin with but who knows. I am not scared of speed or power by any means but I need the car safe before I apply too much of either.

It will be fun to see where you take your Monte and it's performance level. Hope you can make her come to life and it will in turn be an exciting adrenaline rush for you!

Thank you. I can't wait to see what it will do.
Once I get it safe and to the track, I will most definitely be keeping track of my numbers.
36 days until the gates open...yay
I cannot wait for the adrenaline the first time I stage then launch that car. My heart races just thinking about it!!!!!
