New blood
Hey guys im from Pittsburgh and i just got a 2004 Monte Carlo SS. I've only owned Camaros up until this point but i took one test drive in my monte and i had to have it. I have heard about the steering and tranny issues our cars tend to have and i was wondering if there was anything else i needed to keep an eye on. Thanks in advance.
Hey local Monte friend
welcome to mcf!! Keep an eye on the lower intake gaskets as well.
What color did you get? Is it a supercharged one? Post up some pics when you can!

As far as the engine, you have to watch out for the Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets, and the heater hose elbows that go behind the tensioner assembly. Other than that, it's pretty solid, just do oil changes, tune ups, etc and DON'T put the green coolant in it unless it's been converted to it. These engines use Dexcool, but you should probably know that if you're coming from newer Camaro's
