Thanks everyone! Took me a hot minute to get back on the forums due to an overwhelming work load. It's a 96 monte, 3.1 and that's about all I know about it. I'm a tattoo artist and received the car through trade-work after my previous car met it's end on the way to, ironically, a tattoo convention 160 miles away from home. Since I got it I've loved the hell out of it, best car I've owned. The owner luckily owned four other cars and let the monte sit in front of his house for about four years undriven so luckily it had few problems. Had to get a few radiator problems resolved and a head gasket replaced (Paid for through tattoo work again, hahah) since the previous owner felt it was a good idea to fill the radiator with water before giving it it's four year rest. All repairs were done by a very skilled local shop owner by the way, not a slag job by some streetside mechanic. Just recently it's started stalling and kicking after driving smoothly for about 5-10 minutes(Until hot, I assume)...when I accelerate faster than...well, just resting my foot on the gas. I can make it to 45mph in about 10 seconds this way, but it's not very practical for things such as pulling onto the freeway. Before I go off on further tangents of what we've discovered of the car problems, should I move this to a troubleshooting forum/thread?

I would start a new thread on your issue so people can help you.

But it also just sounds like you should get a nice tune-up since it's a used car.

welcome to the forum, man. sounds like you are having some of the same problems i had. start by cleaning the mass air flow sensor, and a compleate tune up could not hurt. could also have a clogged fuel filter. also, do you have a check engine light or service engine soon light on?

good luck figuring it out, 97 ls still has an occational hesitation when its warmed up, but it no longer stalls or does anything really stupied.

oh, and feel free to post some pics of your car when you get a chance
