Ok Monte pros, let's play a game called what would you do?

You've no mechanic skills. You've got a 2002 Monte Carlo SS (106k miles). Your "check engine" light keeps coming on - but isn't on 100% of the time. The local Sears told me the computer code is for the mass air flow sensor and I could probably find one at the local junkyard pretty easily. He also said that I should just buy the unit surrounding the sensor just to make the swap easier.Any idea what actual part I should ask for at the junkyard without sounding like a total novice? The car seems to be running fine.

I love my Monte (I've had 4 in my life) and I'm worried that I'll be driving down and the engine is just going to cut out or that I'm hurting it by not changing out the MAF. Should I or shouldn't I change it out?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
