Default LS swap my 3800 or...

I currently own a 3.8 monte SS minus the supercharger. I want more power. I'm considering purchasing a 2007 with the big engine. Can I swap the front clip of a 03 onto an 07? I love the look of the lights and front bumper of the 2003 that I currently have, the front clip on the 2007's are so boring and plain to me but I want the power offered in the 2007 SS engine.

The body panels and lights are interchangeable. I met a guy who had a 00-05 Monte, but put the exterior body panels and lights of a 06-07 on it. He said most of it bolts up, but there are some minor things that are not too bad to resolve. I believe he said he had to figure out the headlight wiring (but that should be pretty minor compared to everything else).

The_Maniac, wow so he added the new onto the old, that's soooo dull. I'm going to add the old front clip on the new now that I know the front is interchangeable. I have to find a 07 Monte first. Thx.

I'm actually curious about the front clip the way that you want to do it, whether the hood clears the LS4.

Honestly, I don't see why the hood wouldn't clear. From what I recall, the top of the LS4 is the same level as the L36 give or take. The radiator core support where the hood latch is all the same. OH and some where you can find an article with the 00-05 Monte/Impala sporting a concept v8
But, there could be a "gotcha" I don't see, but I am guessing not as far as clearance.

It's possible it works! Like we have said, we have seen the one way, but I haven't seen the other in person.

If the front end body panels are interchangeable, I dont see why it wouldnt. Either way, I'm currently in school for welding and joining, therefore will be prepared to tackle any modification challenges that should befall.
