You may want to consider increasing your purchaseprice for 2 Reasons. The first is I don't believe anyone here would sell there Monte for less than $4500. Second, if you get one for that price it is more than likely going to be a Beeter, not Really worth bringing back to life!

I'm not saying it's impossible to find a good Monte for $1500. But, if you had to sell your Monte for whatever reason, I'll bet you wouldn't take $1700 for it. And That's all I am saying, is that anyone on MCF who is selling their Monte, of any Gen, has put $$$ and themselves into the car and therefore would want a higher price for it.
You got lucky. Im sure a deal like yours could be found But that would take a lot of foot work!

Even, if the rest of the car is in good shape, No major damage, and you pay $1500 for it and the another $1000 to get the engine and trans done, you got a bargain. Go to KBB and put the cars info in and you will see what they say it's worth. If you spend less than the Blue Book value of the car in the purchase and repair, then it is by all means worth it.
Don't forget to post pics we all Love seeing new Montes join our family on cars!
